Floral Design Services

Flowers are an important part of Hawaiian culture and are more than just decoration. They carry deep cultural, spiritual, and social meaning. For generations, specific flowers were chosen not only for their beauty but for their scent, color, and where they grew, often tied to particular places and traditions. Many native flowers were once reserved for aliʻi, and their use reflected status, identity, and connection to the land.

Over time, these traditions evolved but never disappeared. Flowers continued to be used in ceremonies, storytelling, and daily life, becoming a quiet way to express emotion and connection. Today, they still hold that meaning, blending history with modern use while remaining rooted in the same sense of place and respect.

Lei

Traditional Hawaiian garlands.

Lei date back to ancient Hawaiʻi, where they were worn by chiefs and used to show rank, honor, and relationships. They were made from native plants, shells, or feathers, and giving a lei became a way to express respect, affection, and connection.

Lei Poʻo

Hand-woven floral crowns.

Lei poʻo are head leis, with "poʻo" meaning head in Hawaiian. They were often worn during hula and ceremonies, using specific plants chosen for their meaning or where they were gathered. Today they continue that tradition while also being a natural and elegant way to style floral pieces.

Bouquet

Hand-tied collections of flowers.

A bouquet is a collection of flowers gathered and arranged together, typically used as gifts, for celebrations, or as decorations.
